Many years ago I found my strength was in helping others. In hopes of helping children and families become happy and healthy I focused my education first on child development at Cal State Fullerton and then Received my Masters in social work from USC. I started out working as a school social worker, then hospital social worker. I worked in many county programs helping to facilitate family growth and happiness. I loved all of these experiences, and yet I felt something was not connecting. I was not reaching my potential maybe, or my niche?
Long story short, I had kids and decided to be a stay at home mommy. At the age of 12 my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes throwing our family into, I kid you not, a year and a half of some major life changes, struggles and ultimately to a place of healing and strength. We were overwhelmed with information, lifestyle changes, and feelings of fear, sadness, frustration and isolation. We struggled trying to stay grounded while navigating this new lifestyle. I quickly had to become our own advocate, researcher, investigator and time management coach. I realized this was something I was really good at.
I strongly believe that health is not only about diet and exercise, but among other things, it is also about relationships, career and spirituality.
I feel like there is such a need for a “middle man” through the process of reaching ones own life and health goals, be it balance, confidence, coping, organizing and task management or just needing someone to talk it through. I want to be that coach.
Through the years of education, work and life experiences, accompanied by my drive for balance, health, healing and need to help others I found my calling. I received my certification as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrated Health and I am here, ready to get you to a place of happiness and life balance.
A health, wellness and life coach is a life balance expert who has a lot to offer in helping to cope with the day-to-day struggles.
